Вовсе нет. Еще во время поездки в Эбу Дар, Илэйн то ли размышляет, то ли проверяет как раз вариант с опосредственным влиянием на Мэта Силой. Т.е. поднять ЕС что-то тяжелое и швырнуть в мастера Коутона. Надо будет пролистать ВХ/КМ на этот счет.

The whole Perrin storyline was not exciting: (1) he could not heal turned channelers (which would have been cool), (2) he overcame forsaken compulsion with 'love' (cheesy)

Открыли ну совершенно случайно, и даже вроде как не Илэйн, а то ли Вандене, то ли Аделис. До этого они знали, что можно вполне чем нибудь в Мэта швырнуть или там ударить физически, так сказать, но ЕС против него не работает. Просто, в очередной раз разозлившись от тщетности своих усилий, кто то из них взял кусок навоза Силой (ну ведь не ручки же пачкать им, а кроме навоза на конюшне больше кинуть было не чем ) и метнул его Мету в спину. И совершилось случайное великое открытие

Во первых, может Демандред и знал, а во вторых, чтоб столкнуть Голама в переходные врата Мэту понадобилось, сначала, "унизить его в ближке". Скорее всего, Дема хотел сделать нечто подобное, но просто не на того напал - откуда ему было знать, что противостоит ему лучший боец эпохи?

So what happens to Rand & co? Stopped reading this around book 8 but I'm interested to know how it all ends.

Here goes. Resist, if at all possible. All this is best read in context:

Rand: Makes everyone, including the Seanchan, accept the "Dragon's Peace". The Aiel are to be enforcers of this Peace. He then enters Tharkan'dar with Moiraine and Nynaeve, wielding Callandor. Fights with Moridin, and in the process gets sucked into the outer void through the Bore. Duels with the Dark One, both creating possible alternate realities to wear down opposition from the others. Nearly loses himself in the process, but manages to push back and escape into his body again. Is disarmed and drops Callandor, which Moridin picks up. Moridin realizes Callandor is a True Power sa'angreal and begins to use it. Nynaeve and Moiraine exploit the known flow in Callandor, and take control of Moridin. They link with Rand, who uses the combined Powers of Saidin, Saidar and the True Power to seize the Dark One. A powerful beam of light shoots out from him, and the Seals are broken, far away. He brings the DO into the Pattern, where time can affect him. Using the True Power, he creates a block between the Dark One and a powerful shield of saidin and saidar that he weilds. Pushes back the Dark One, and Seals away the weakness in the Pattern. His body dies in the process. His soul jumps into Moridin's body, after an old Aiel woman comes to him, and says "Yes, this is what you must do". Woman is likely Nakomi, who met Aviendha before, and is almost certainly a manifestation of the Creator. Nobody but his three women knows. He's last seen riding out into the world, intending to Travel, wondering who among the three would follow him. He cannot channel anymore, but he is able to imagine his pipe as lit, and it is lit. This is the "hook" RJ promised, along with another thing that happens in the epilogue.

Egwene: Opposes Rand's plan to break the Seals immediately. Is successful  but is given the charge of breaking them when she judges the time to be right. Leads the White Tower in extremely successful early defeats of the Shadowspawn armies in Kandor, till Demandred spoils the party by arriving with a huge army of Sharans, which includes many channelers. She, along with Elayne, then makes the decision to let overall command of all the armies go to Mat, as all the major generals have been Compelled. She makes a personal truce with the Seanchan that goes beyond the terms of Rand's agreement with them. In the Last Battle, she leads the Aes Sedai against the huge Sharan contingent of channelers. They're fairly successful till Gawyn, her Warder, is killed. She then faints, and is rushed off to the Light's hospital. The Sharan's push back, but Egwene awakes and leads a rally that has them reeling. Taim attacks her, and gets his ass handed to him. He's then given a powerful sa'angreal to defeat her, and use enough Balefire to destroy the Pattern. He fights Egwene, killing many Aes Sedai and almost killing Egwene. Egwene uses the anti-thesis of Balefire that she discovers, and Taim is covered in a crystal, frozen in time. Egwene notices that the balefire used has seriously damaged the Pattern, and there will soon be a hole there through which darkness will be able to consume everything. Uses her sa'angreal (which has no buffer) to send out an enormous weave of the Flame of Tar Valon (the anti-balefire) that stabilizes the Patter. Dies in the process. Her death acts as a catalyst that allows Rand to finally push off the Dark One. Leaves instructions for the Seals to be broken the moment there is light again, which Logain follows, allowing the new Sealing to occur.

Nynaeve and Lan: Survive. Nynaeve finds Alanna in the bore, where the plan is for Moridin to kill her at a critical moment and drive Rand insane. Unable to access the Power, Nynaeve  uses herbs and surgery to heal Alanna as much as possible. This wakes Alanna enough for her to release Rand's bond, preventing disaster. Nynaeve later tries unsuccessfully to Heal Rand. Lan leads the Light's armies at Tarwin's Gap, and the later retreat through Shienar. Is at the Last Battle in Merrilor. Finally faces and defeats Demandred. Is once again crowned king of Malkier, with Nynaeve as queen.

Mat and Tuon: Mat goes to Ebou Dar to be with Tuon. Rand arrives, and Mat helps him get the truce with the Seanchan. Realizes that Gareth Bryne has been compelled and is leading the White Tower's armies to defeat. Steps in and saves them best as he can. Is given overall command of the Light's forces in the Last Battle. Outgenerals Demandred, but only barely. Then goes to Tharkan'dar, just in time to kill Modeth, who is on his way to consume Rand's soul. Finds out he's not a Hero of the Horn, and that he'll soon be a father.

Perrin kills Slayer. Its revealed he was compelled by Lanfear so at the critical moment, he would help her kill Moiraine and Nynaeve, thus disrupting Rand's plan, and letting Shai'tan win. Perrin is able to get rid of it (cause its TAR), and he snaps her neck, killing her.

Galad is severly wounded fighting Demandred. None of the Harem dies, though Aviendha more or less loses her legs (they're mangled, at least, thogugh Nynaeve implies she may be able to figure a way to help). Elayne nearly has a forced C-section, but otherwise is unscathed. Min is fine, but ends up as Tuthspeaker and Doomsayer to Tuon.

Siuan and Bryne were given a warning from Min that at a crucial time, if they were not together, they would die. Siuan ignored this warning to stay around Mat Cauthon to protect him in the Last Battle. She dies during a surprise attack, which drives Bryne into the expected death rage, killing him.

Cadsuane was named Rand's Aes Sedai advisor, and for the Last Battle, he requests her to fight off any Foresaken who would try to enter Shayol Ghul and distract from his work. She does so, and after the Battle, realizes that Rand has in fact not died. As she walks away from his sham funeral, she is ambushed by Sitters from the Hall who, to her immense dismay, ask her to be the Amyrlin Seat. She is last seen cursing her bad luck.

Последняя Битва уже кончилась! - Темный запечатан, а Демандред уцелел, и фактически победил просто в силу отсутствия достойных противников. И он теперь "царь горы" (то, что Ранду то же удалось уцелеть, он не знает), потому как круче всех - причем во всех смыслах. И почему бы не поиграть как кошка с мышкой против очередного "мастера клинка", когда он только что отделал сразу двух таких, хлебнуть так сказать еще порцию адреналина.
Среди спойлерных фраз была и та фраза Лана, которой он купил его "на слабо".

Какие три книги? Они (Илэйн, Найнив, Аделис, Вандене и т.д.) пересеклись с Мэтом в ВХ. Пробовала что-то Эг на Мэте в ВТ и ОН или нет - неизвестно.
